Terence asks: “Is someone you love on Zyprexa?” Wide-spread inappropriate use causes a 200-300% increase in death.”
According to a legal notice in the Globe & Mail on July 3, 2010, a settlement agreement has been reached in Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec with Eli Lilly – makers of Zyprexa (Olanzapine).
The Canadian class action lawsuits alleged that Eli Lilly Canada Inc. (and it’s parent company) manufactured, marketed and sold Zyprexa (Olanzapine) without properly warning of alleged risks of diabetes and related disorders such as hyperglycemia, ketoacidosis and pancreatitis which can all be deadly.
This follows a $700 million settlement in 2005 in the United States and affects Canadians who used Zyprexa prior to June 6, 2007. A copy of the full legal notice and claim form can be found at www.classaction.ca. Claim forms must be submitted by October 28, 2010.
